This training is vital to police command staff, who have to explain officer actions to the public. The training will help me during officer investigations, and after critical incidents.

All of the topics were relevant to what we do. I liked the arousal and attention section - especially discussing the chemical reaction in suspects who start out compliant, and an officer may use force that surprises the suspect and causes a reaction. I thought the class was a great mixture of text, videos and class participation.
Great class! Should be included in all police academies.
I rate this training as very valuable to me. I will be better prepared for everyday work and for stressful situations, having a better understanding of the brain. The class was very informative.
I work in homicide. I investigate OIS cases. The class was specific to my assignment. Awesome explanation on how an officer's shots may land in a suspect's back.
The entire course was informative. Having worked in Internal Affairs (4 yrs.) and having been involved in an OIS, I wish I had known this information years ago! As the training Lt., I will encourage more command staff, I.A., & Homicide personnel to attend this course.
Incredible class giving you an in-depth look at the science of Human Factors. Craig is an incredibly knowledgeable instructor with vast experience and explains everything with keen detail so everyone can understand and apply in their personal and professional lives. This is a subject that affects us all and has given me the tools and working knowledge to create a safety culture that aims in reducing accidents. I look at all human error accidents differently now.
This course (Force Encounters Analysis) should be required as a management (POST) course for Lts. and above. Topics that were especially relevant for me: Stress & Performance, and Officer Reaction Time.
Great course! I left with a much better understanding of Force Encounters, and human performance limitations. Good presentation of why we do what we do under stress/fear.
As someone who has investigated deputy involved shootings, worked internal affairs, and will likely take over some use of force review responsibility, I found the areas on reaction time, as well as the amount of info processed by the brain, very interesting. My greatest focus will be to get ore employees trained in this subject matter. The last exercise was helpful in allowing a group of students to assess a situation and utilize the book to 'defend' our employee. I enjoyed this practical exercise.
